.:Picking yourself back up:.

Boy! This week has been BAD!! I ate alot and bad things; things that I thought would help make me feel better because it's bland (like bread). I only worked out 3 times this week... It's been horrible and I think I gained weight too.. Now standing at 114lbs (hopefully just water weight)..
So now I must pick myself back up and start over again. I am starting to feel better now from my sickness. I am not 100% myself yet, but I am in good enough shape to workout again tomorrow.
Now I have only three weeks before leaving for Puerto Rico... Fighting! Fighting!

Picking Yourself Up After a Weight Gain

Don’t Beat Yourself Up

Firstly, don’t start blaming yourself or getting angry. You might feel as though all your hard work’s been worth nothing, but that’s not true (as I’ll explain in a minute). Feeling miserable and guilty isn’t likely to get you inspired to make any positive changes! So call a swift end to the pity party. Focus simply on the facts – your current weight and measurements – and recognise that you have the chance to turn things around.

Look At Your Successes

However hopeless you might feel, you have had successes already. You may well have stuck to some of your good habits despite sliding away from your diet: for example, are you drinking half-and-half instead of whole milk, or using less oil in your cooking?
Maybe you started exercising and stopped – but you might have successfully found some activities which you quite enjoyed. Can you go back to them?
Perhaps you found some great new healthy recipes which you really enjoyed. Could you start eating those meals again?
If you’ve lost weight in the past, you know that you can do it again. It’s as simple as that!

Look At What Went Wrong

Once you’ve taken a good look at what you’ve done well, it’s time to think about what went wrong. Don’t get judgmental – treat yourself gently and sympathetically. (If it helps, think of how you’d be kind to a friend who’d had a setback.)
Here are some typical reasons why dieters end up putting weight back on. Do any apply to you?
  • Ended up busy and grabbing fast food or snacks on the go
  • Comfort-ate due to stress or unhappiness
  • Stopped exercising because of external factors (e.g. injury, the weather)
  • Lost motivation – perhaps due to increased happiness about your weight and size (which is a good thing!)
  • Family and/or friends weren’t supportive so it was hard to stick to a healthy plan
  • Got back into bad habits on vacation and struggled to get back into dieting
  • Just let things “slide” a little bit: stopped weighing food, stopped keeping food diary, etc.
Knowing why your diet didn’t quite work out should help you to figure out what you’ll want to do differently now. For example, do you need to cut down on some of the commitments in your life, so that you have time to look after yourself with healthy food and exercise? Could you find support from a slimming club or a friend, if your family aren’t very supportive?

Make a Fresh Start

Finally, it’s time for a fresh start! While I wouldn’t suggest making loads of huge, radical changes all at once, many dieters do find that a clear break from old habits can help them to focus.
You might want to join a gym, clear out the junk food from your cupboards, or make a firm commitment to yourself (putting it in writing can help). You could look for a clear date which helps you focus your dieting efforts – e.g. a vacation, a wedding or Christmas.
Remind yourself that, however many times you’ve gained weight in the past, you cansuccessfully lose weight and keep it off. Build on the successes which you’ve already had, and avoid the mistakes which you know will derail your diet.

:Must be Patient:.

That's it. I've hit THE PLATEAU. I don't know what to do... I'm becoming impatient.

So here are some tips from http://www.weight-loss-center.net/weight_loss_plateau.html:
1. Don't focus on the scale.... -->weigh myself less.
2. Add variety or intensity to your workouts. --> add more weights.
3. Drink more water. -->two bottles to work.
4. Check your diet. -->NEED to do BETTER.

I must work on number 4 and check my diet. Lately I've been making excuses and eating pretty bad. I need to get my act together to overcome this "plateau."

.:Do you believe in yourself:.

"As much as my work in television has been a big dream, the truth is that I never set out to create this huge life. The path to my success was never about attaining incredible wealth or celebrity. It was about the process of continually seeking to be better, challenging myself to pursue excellence on every level.

What I know for sure is that it's only when you make the process your goal that your big dream will follow. That doesn't mean your process will necessarily lead you to wealth or fame—in fact, your dream may have nothing to do with tangible prosperity, and everything to do with creating a life filled with joy, no regrets and a clear conscience.

The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be. I believe you can only do this when you stop long enough to hear the whisper you might have drowned out, that small voice compelling you toward the kind of work you'd be willing to do even if you weren't paid. Once you tune out the noise of your life and hear that call, you face the biggest challenge of all: to find the courage to seek out your big dream, regardless of what anyone else says or thinks."

I love this quote:
The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be. - Oprah Winfrey

I know my calling, my dream job, my passion and my being is to be a GREAT and INSPIRING teacher. But right now it seems so far away. Seems like I have waited so long to make a difference, to impact lives.... I'm praying that things will go as planned and I will be teaching in Jan of 2012. It's only 10 months away I tell myself. 2011 is going to be a busy busy year full of changes and I am sooo excited to see it unfold.

Recently, I am feeling blown out (--> probably not even a term, but fitting). I don't think my weight is going to budge much. I'm happy with my weight, my size and myself. I'm working harder than before at it, so I can eat whatever I want when I am on vacation next month. Roasted pork, I will consume you everyday!!! I can't wait to munch on the crispy friend pork skin!!

.:The things we give up:.

So this month my coworkers and I decided to give up meat (except seafood and eggs). It's been 6 days and so far so good. The biggest temptation I had was going to Sean's Bday party yesterday. There was Beef Laab and chicken wings (my favorite)! Otherwise I have been eating alot of veggies, which is a super super plus for my diet! I am hoping to be at 110lbs by the end of this month with the help of this sacrifice. Also starting this week, I am going to do interval cardio instead of steady running. I am still doing weight training every other day. I don't follow any particular workout plan. I just make them up everyweek so that I am not bored. Now that I am doing more weight days, I notice I am toning up... :)

Today for Superbowl Sunday, I am eating corn chips with salsa for dinner. Pretty healthy eh?! Duong is on no carbs so he is having wings! No beer and no alcohol here.

Recent foods:
We had Frankie's Chicken Alfredo pizza and hald rack of ribs from Frankie's Chicago Pizza & Grill. I was not impressed. It needed more flavor.. more seasoning!
What's better?
My homemade spicy papaya salad and spring rolls!
Have you ever had avocado with condensed milk? It's really yummy! Try it.
I have been making cookies from scratch. I can't remember the last time I bought cookies from the grocery store. This is homemade chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies.
